N, a pregnant woman living
with her fiancé, who is on disability, was in danger of her lights being turned
off. She is currently unemployed and
without transportation but was hopeful of securing a job nearby in Summerville
that she could walk too. She had fallen
behind in her payments to SCE&G and had come up against some dead ends in
trying to get assistance. SCE&G
worked out a deferred payment plan for her but it required a $167 deposit to
keep her service form being disconnected.
Change for a Dollar paid the deposit and she felt going forward she
would be able to make the minimum payments required on the deferred payment
plan.
